Thanks to strategic long-term planning, the meeting industry has not yielded to the heavy blows dealt by the global pandemic and Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), with its Event & Conference division, is riding out the storm with its eyes firmly fixed on the future. In fact, thanks to its strategic long-term planning, the international conference and event sector has kept on going. The relentless work of the IEG Event & Conference Division in recent years has led to the scheduling, to date, of nine international events for 2021-2025 at the Palacongressi di Rimini alone.
This is a segment of the IEG galaxy that is going from strength to strength, in part thanks to the network of strong relations built up over the years by this front-runner in the organisation of major trade fairs, in particular, the fields of agri-food, wellness, energy and environment and tourism. An “IEG system” that is proving to be a winner, in trade fairs as well as in congresses and conferences.
For example, thanks to the strong presence of the agri-food chain with some of the most important trade fairs in the IEG venues – Sigep, Macfrut, Fieravicola, Beer & Food Attraction -, the Palacongressi di Rimini will host two major international meetings: the International Strawberry Symposium, initially scheduled for 2020, but reinvented in hybrid form from 1 to 4 May of this year, and the European Symposium on Poultry Nutrition scheduled from 5 to 8 September 2022, with an expected 1,500 participants, which we hope we can welcome as an in-person event.
Another food sector event lined up for 8-12 September 2024 is the World Congress of the International Union of Food Science and Technology – IUFoST, which the Palacongressi di Rimini was recently awarded organisation of, together with AIM.
The leading role that IEG has rightly earned in Italy and Europe in the environment and renewable energy market with the Ecomondo and Key Energy fairs, is reaffirmed by a number of events to be hosted by the Palacongressi in the two-year period 2022-23: among them, the World Wind Energy Congress from 28 to 30 June 2022, and the annual Conference of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists – EAERE from 20 to 23 June 2023.
